The Friends of Kananaskis Country Cooperating Association was incorporated as a not-for-profit and registered charity in 1996. Working in partnership with Alberta Tourism, Parks & Recreation, we are interested citizens cooperating for the benefit of Kananaskis Country and its visitors.
The Friends of Kananaskis Country is a member of a community of caring that values and protects the natural and cultural landscape.
Our mission is to enhance, protect and share the unique natural and cultural experiences of Kananaskis Country through public participation and environmental education.
We are governed by a volunteer board of directors with a diversity of backgrounds and skills. All have a passion for Kananaskis Country. They ensure that every one of our programs and projects center around the concepts of: Education, Participation, and Protection.

Since 1978, we have celebrated Kananaskis Country with a limited-edition
poster set and photo contest. Each year, one animal photo and one
landscape photo are selected to celebrate the bold vision that created this
Alberta legacy. If you have a photograph that you think would make a
great poster, you can be part of the legacy! Our panel of judges will select
one animal and one landscape photo to create the 2011 poster set.
PHOTOS MUST:
• depict either a wild animal or a landscape found in Kananaskis Country
• be submitted as either a high quality (+300dpi) digital print or slide film
• demonstrate ethical wildlife photography and indicate photo location
• be the sole property of the entrant
Poster sales proceeds will support the Friends of Kananaskis Country.
