Support from foundations and corporations is critical to the success of the Friends of Kananaskis Country, in addition to the many individual donations we receive. The Friends is a non-profit organization that runs exclusively on donations. We give thanks to all our supporters.

The Calgary Foundation has become one of our most significant supporters. They have provided us with 4 years of funding to assist in flood damaged trail recovery, funding to assist in trail interpretive trail work, and support for implementing the Human Use Management project in partnership with the Town of Canmore and Kananaskis Parks.
FortisAlberta for their support to build the volunteer-base trail stewardship program and equipment/tools to outfit trail crews.
TransAlta has renewed their support for our Trail Stewardship program. They has a longstanding commitment to sustainability which results in support of organizations like the Friends.
Banff Canmore Community Foundation for supporting the Trail Stewardship program and the Refreshing Grassi Lakes Interpretive Trail Signs project.
Patagonia Elements Inc. Calgary & Banff stores for choosing us as the 'GiveBackFriday' donation recipient - supporting our Trail Stewardship program.
Husky Energy came on to subsidize Crew Leader & Board member travel to and from our Trail Care days and other Friends events.

We are using TRAFx trail counters and vehicle counters to estimate recreation use intensity on roads and trails in Kananaskis Country. This helps Alberta Parks improve visitor experience and better manage human use in key wildlife habitat.
