Kananaskis Country is a wilderness playground for hikers, cyclists, skiers, snowshoers and other outdoor enthusiasts who rely on the vast network of stunning yet safe trails. Maintenance of these trails is the responsibility of Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation.
The Friends of Kananaskis Country works to support Alberta Parks. We raise funds to support the repair, rehabilitation and conservation of existing trails, as well as the creation of new trails where it makes sense from an ecological standpoint. Not only do we raise money for this important work, we create fun and memorable opportunities for people to come out and experience Kananaskis Country while giving back to this amazing part of the world.
The Friends of Kananaskis Country trail care program delivers a safe, fun and meaningful adventure for people of all ages and abilities. We have worked with youth groups, small businesses and corporations that want to give back to the parks and wild spaces that provide enjoyment to so many people from around the world.
Find out why companies like TransAlta Corporation, our title sponsor for 2013 and Mountain Equipment Co-op partner with Friends of Kananaskis Country on our trail care program. Give us a call, sign up to be a member and find out how you can support trail care in Kananaskis Country.
We are presently working on plans for our 2013 season initiatives. Updates will be posted on our Volunteer Trail Care page.
